I started out on July 9, 2015, on the NC/SC border, and began walking north along the eastern coast of NC. I am walking land/water boundaries, as these are the stats I was able to obtain. NC has 301 miles of Atlantic Coastline according to the NOAA, which is where I got my stats.
As of this afternoon, September 1, 2015, I have crossed the Virginia State Line, and retired my first pair of shoes (I actually needed to do this about 50 miles ago, but I stubbornly wanted my first pair of shoes to carry me out of North Carolina, and that has now been achieved.)
If you are in Virginia, here’s a wave to you!
By the way, in case anyone is interested in these sorts of stats…
In my walk of North Carolina, I burned just over 61,000 calories…or about 13 pounds of fat.
I walked 301 miles in about 54 calendar days. The total time spent walking was just about 109 hours…the equivalent of walking for just over four and a half days, 24 hours a day.
I took approximately 657,000 steps to travel this distance.
